Description

Use this file to create a zero clearance throat plate for your Delta table saw 36-725

Notes & Instructions

Create a zero clearance throat plate for your Delta Table Saw, model 36-725. Only one bit is used, which is a 201 (1/4" flat endmill). You will be using a piece of 3/4" plywood. The piece that I used measured .73" with calipers. You will want to make sure that your material measures .73" or you will need to adjust cutting depths for all tool paths.

There are four tool paths. I'll briefly explain them.
1. The first tool path clears the area around where the leveling screws are located. There are five of these locations.

2. The second tool path makes a hole for each leveling screw so that they are adjustable when the plate is in place.

3. The third tool path makes a lip so that the throat plate will rest on the table saw.

4. The fourth, and last, tool path is the contour cut. I added four tabs so that the piece will stay in place when the cutting is finished.

Note: The throat plate will not be able to sit in its place when a 10" table saw blade is installed. You will need to install a smaller blade to make the initial cut and then replace it with your 10" blade. I have made a second file that includes space for the saw blade and the riving knife, which can be downloaded from my project page.

Enjoy!
