Notes & Instructions

File was created based on dimensions of my Shapeoko 4 Pro XXL. Please verify dimensions with your machine before proceeding. File created with Carbide Motion, version 742. SVG is also provided. Bits used: - 1/4" end mill (#201) - 1/8" end mill (#102) - not needed if just modifying existing slats - 90deg v-bit (#301) - optional Steps for Jig: - Cut a strip of 3/4" think MDF to 6.5"x48". - Align the centerline of the board at the front-right corner (X0, Y0) of the first slat on the left side of the hybrid table. - Align the board at a 45deg. angle (see photos) - Clamp down the board around the perimeter. - Set Z0 at top of board. - Cut Toolpath "Jig 1". - Insert 4 bolts through the cut holes with teez-nuts to hold down the board to the Shapeoko tracks. - Remove other clamps. - Cut Toolpaths "Jig 2A" and "Jig 2B". - Toolpath "Jig 3" is optional, but adds chamfer around the perimeter to soften the edges - Remove board from Shapeoko and install 4 threaded inserts into backside of board cut from Toolpath "Jig 2A". . Steps for Slats: - Reinstall the jig on the Shapeoko with the left side of jig aligned with the left edge of the first track and front edge aligned with front of table (see photo) far right side of jig aligned with right edge of last track (see photo). **Jig was designed to be able to be repeatedly installed back in the machined based on these reference 3 reference edges so that the jig can be used at a later date - Fasten down the jig with 4 bolts as previously done with holes cut from Toolpath "Jig 1" - Confirm X0, Y0 is lower left corner of jig (all cuts for jig and slats have the same X0, Y0) - Clamp down piece of MDF slightly larger then slat (skip if just modifying existing slat removed from table) - Set Z0 to top of this board - Cut Toolpaths "Slat 1" and "Slat 2" (skip if just modifying existing slat removed from table) - Remove board, flip over and reattach to jig with 4 holes cut from Toolpath "Slat 1" & "Slat 2", don't use other clamps (or if just modifying existing slats that were removed from table, install them upside down and set Z0 to top surface) - Cut Toolpaths "Slat 3A", "Slat 3B" and "Slat 3C" - Remove board and install threaded inserts into holes cut from Toolpath "Slat 3B" and "Slat 3C" - Install slat with treaded inserts into Shapeoko table and enjoy
